JonBenet Ramsey was a six year old beauty pageant queen and was found dead in her basement in December 1996.
Her mother, Patsy Ramsey, found a ransom note on the stairs saying if they ever wanted to see JonBenet again they would have to pay $118,000. They called the police just before her father, Jon Ramsey, found her body in the basement and brought her upstairs. To this day, no one knows who killed her but there are some theories.
The first theory is that it was her mother Patsy. Growing up she was also a beauty pageant queen and was a very intense stage mom. Some say she may have taken it too far and hit or pushed JonBenet too hard, and she fell and hit her head. Patsy told Jon Ramsey about it, and they tried to cover it up. Some evidence that points to this being real is that there was a lot of similarities between the handwriting on the random note and her parents handwriting. The note was also written on stationary that was in Patsy’s office.
Another theory is that it was her father. When they did the autopsy they also found out that JonBenet had been sexually abused for years. This made many people look at her father. Also, the same day JonBenet was found, he was trying to get a flight out of country.
The last theory is that it was her nine year old brother Burke. Many say he was jealous of his sister getting all the attention and accidentally killed her in rage. Some evidence for this is that there was two small holes in JonBenet’s neck, and in the basement they found one of Burke’s train track pieces. When they put it up to her neck it fit perfectly where the holes were at.
Because her mother has since died, we may never know for sure how this night played out.
