Jordan or Lebron?

Who’s better, LeBron James or Michael Jordan? This is the question you hear most of the time when your talking about basketball. There’s so much we can tell how each one is better than the other.

If we say Michael Jordan is better, we can say he has more rings, season MVP awards, and Finals MVP awards than Lebron. But if we were to say Lebron is better we can say that his stats are better than Jordan’s and that’s only because he is still playing and Jordan is retired.

In my opinion, Jordan is better than Lebron even though he is smaller. Michael is 6’6 and 216 lbs while Lebron is 6’8 and 250 lbs. Also the league has gotten soft from when Jordan played when a tap on the wrist wasn’t a foul and there wasn’t a lot of flopping. Most of the time if someone is driving to the basket and they act like the got fouled the refs will call it a foul. But this is one argument that will be around for a while and it probably won’t come to conclusion at all.

Do you believe in ghosts? If you were to ask me this question a couple of years ago I would have told you no. I thought that ghosts were just a figment of one’s imagination and that no such things existed. Well, this all changed after I witnessed something that shook me to my core.

It was the summer of 2016. My family and I were at a lake house in Indiana enjoying a nice vacation. I always looked forward to this trip because it was nice to get out of Toledo and enjoy some peace and quiet. I loved to go out in a canoe, catch fish off the dock, go for a swim, or just sit by the fire and think. There was always something to do at the lake house.

One evening, my sister and I had just finished up dinner and were thinking what we should do later that night. After throwing some ideas back and forth we came up with a plan. About a mile and a half down the road was a cemetery and a church. We decided that when the sun started to set, we would make our way down to the cemetery and explore.

After a few hours, the sun was starting to go down, so we made our departure. We started walking down the gravel road just having normal conversations. It was still bright enough to see and the setting sun castes long shadows of objects around us. We had been walking for about ten minutes when we saw something in the middle of the road about 50 yards ahead of us. It was a pitch-black figure of a man, just standing in the middle of the road wearing a trench coat and fedora. I was startled because it seemed that he just showed up out of nowhere. The way the sun was setting we would have been able to make out some features of the man, but it was complete darkness. On top of this, it was way too hot for someone to wear such formal clothing. My sister and I looked at each other, looked back at the road, and the figure was gone.

To this day, I believe that what I saw that night wasn’t human. There was no way something could just vanish from my view in a matter of seconds, especially in such a wide-open area. I asked my sister if she saw the same thing as me, which she did. We both turned around and headed home. We had enough of a scare for one night.

Self-happiness is key

Self-happiness consists of many different things. In order to be happy with yourself you need to respect yourself. Respecting yourself consists of keeping toxic people out of your life and never letting someone walk all over you.

Loving yourself is another factor of self happiness. When you love yourself, in my eyes, you’re giving yourself the ability to love someone else. Although, it is easier to give love to someone else, other than yourself. Being happy can really help you grow as a person in life. When I’m happy, I have motivation. Motivation helps me with things such as waking up everyday for school, striving for good grades, going to work etc.. Self-happiness should be something everyone should strive for.

Respect your parents

You know what bothers me? Children and young adults who are disrespectful to their mother or father who raised them to be responsible, respectful and tried their best to give them what they want. I’ve noticed so many people being disrespectful to their parents in pubic and private because they don’t get what they want or can’t do what they want to do.

For example, I was over a friends house a couple months ago and her mother told her to go wash dishes but refused to. Her mom asked her a simple question, “Why didn’t you wash the dishes?” She started arguing with her about how she don’t live there so she doesn’t have to wash dishes. It was so rude. I would never dare talk to my mom that way.

Some kids just take their mom and dad for granted and it’s just sad seeing that because they don’t how special they are until something bad happens. A mother and father deserve many wonderful things in their lives. Just like mine. I love my parents way too much to ever disrespect them. It’ll just make me feel like I’m a failure as a daughter.

Well like I said before, don’t take your parents for granted because they wanna see the best in you. Make them proud and happy. They’re your heroes.
