Saving lives and taking names

There’s many things that interests me as a career path, but nursing seem to be the one that I can’t get out of my mind. I like all that comes with nursing. I want to first go to school to become an RN and work my way up to a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. I like working with children. I also like the idea of being able to be there for them while they are trying to get better. I want the children to be able to have someone to look up to and know someone cares about them and their health.

I believe becoming a nurse is the best thing for me and always will be. I like to assist people when need be. I am a very social person so working with so many patients will be a breeze for me. My personality is also great so I think the people who I work with will enjoy it. When my patients are going through a stressful time I can cope with that and be there for them when they need me. I can put up with all the cons of being a nurse because I already know what I’m getting myself into. Some days may be harder than others, but I know I can get through it and bring my patients out of their misery or at least try and help them be in a better state. I know for many people being in the hospital is stressful and overwhelming, and I hope to be a calming presence. People don’t want a rude nurse and someone who doesn’t understand them, and that’s why I’m going to strive to be the best nurse I can be.

One of the main reasons I want to be a nurse is because of my mom. She went to school to be a nurse and she told me a lot about what nurses do and go through. It’s not too much I can’t handle. Also, when my mom gets older I want to be the nurse who takes care of her instead of having one come out to the house. She has medical issues, and I want to better understand them so I have been doing a lot of studying. Most people only want to become a nurse because of the pay. I will say nurses are paid good, but that’s far from the reason why I’m becoming one. As soon as I’m out of high school I’m going straight into college to knock school out the way and be a nurse at a very early age. I want to be very successful and move to the top with it and save up for my future, and my children’s future (if I have any).
